Here I am at work, with naught to do. Again. Oh, why am I even surprised?

If you haven't seen "Crumb", watch it asap. This film was so painful to watch, yet so engrossing. In my opinion, Crumb is a true artist because he has the courage to express what exists in his mind, things both good and bad, in a way that captivates the public. I'm a little obsessed at the moment. I really want to buy the Crumb Handbook.

I also watched "Bad Education", a recent Almodovar production. Sooo much gay sex in that film. Seemed a tad heavy-handed, too, but was still enjoyable.

Is anyone reading this besides you, Erick? Hey, if anything, you can get some good movie recommendations out of reading this, eh? Next week I'll be watching March of the Penguins, Wild Strawberries, and the House of Yes.

Driving to work today down Montrose, I pulled up beside an old model pickup truck (driven by a blonde woman wearing black leather driving gloves) that was painted all over with pink lingerie and underwear floating in a blue partly cloudy sky. The detail was amazing... seemed like you could literally reach out and feel the elastic bunching on the underwear. Written in ribbony pink letters were the words "Peace is Sexy"... around the band of the underwear were the words "Defeat the Asses of Evil".

Right on!

So it's Wednesday. We had our company Xmas party yesterday and I am now the proud owner of a can safe in the shape of an Aqua Net hairspray bottle. Now I've just gotta find some expensive jewelry and top secret documents to put inside it.

Sitting at work. Listening to a new (new to me) band called South San Gabriel. http://www.south-san-gabriel.com/ It's a whole CD of music written from the perspective of a cat. Intriguing.

I'm reveling in the relative cush and non-stress of my new job. In the past few hours, I've done about 10 minutes of paperwork, helped a Nigerian woman who was pissy about admin rules, helped a little Korean man, added a few movies to my Netflix list, added the name of another band to look into (Lhasa), surfed the web, blahdeblah. And now I'm boring whoever's going to end up reading this journal to tears with my endless rambling.

I did get to speak Japanese today--let's hope I get to do more than that in the future... breaks up the monotony.

Houston. Houston is... first of all, I wish Houston were Austin. Unfortunately, it is not.

My job is... sitting at a computer, grey cubicles, ...

Jesus, I've gotta stop right now. I'm depressing myself.

I've just put "The Eyes of Tammy Faye" on my list, should get it tomorrow, and am excited about that. Here's a funny little game I found today. Whoever designed it needs to reprogram it to allow for more play time: http://www.eyesoftammyfaye.com/tamgame.htm.
